Join us as we explore what makes Cap Juluca a top destination for those seeking unparalleled beauty and sophistication in the heart of the Caribbean.

Posterior Anguilla experiences a medieval war-like airport and a long ride through Detroit.

Cap Juluca’s frontage overlooks a swampy lake, while the beach offers mesmerizing scenery with blue waters and chickens.

Equipment

Upon entering Cap Juluca, the breathtaking scenery of the beach beckons you forward. The entrance itself provides a glimpse of what’s to come.

Along your path towards the shore, there is an art gallery and boutique competing for your attention as they try to lure you away from nature with material things.

Before reaching the grand living area that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces shaded by towering structures, visitors will stumble upon a petite library worth taking note of.

Adjacent to this relaxing space lies a bar leading into Uchu – their Peruvian restaurant equipped with its trademark small pool awkwardly placed in an interior courtyard alongside dining tables.

Fortunately located downstairs awaits another larger practical pool although it may lack some originality compared to its iconic counterpart upstairs.

This area offers you the convenience of two additional restaurants to choose from. However, if you’re looking for Cap Shack, be prepared to walk all the way down the other end of the beach.

To make your journey a little easier though, there are charming two-seater bars scattered along the beach where you can grab a drink before continuing on your way.

At the resort, guests can indulge in water sports with motorised equipment, play basketball and even opt for pickleball on court, enjoy a game of tennis or visit their very own nursery to grow organic produce.

In addition, they offer a valet facility for the carts where you can drive your vehicle in and leave it to the experts just like how Ace Ventura did. This way there’s no need for concern about any issues that may occur.

Services

In the Caribbean, one might anticipate encountering problems. However, it is not appropriate to cast aspersions on that assumption. It’s improper and perhaps your upbringing did not address this issue.

Room hosts function as elevated receptionists, with communication primarily via WhatsApp. Issues include unskilled amateurs, incorrect fees, and unresolved issues with laundry services, despite attempts to resolve issues.

People were always enthusiastic about exchanging greetings and conversing with us, however, there was minimal engagement beyond that.

The housekeeping service was extremely inadequate, leading us to make multiple requests for their assistance. Despite our 9 am room service request being acknowledged, it took nearly four hours for them to fulfill it.

At times it seemed pointless as only minimal cleaning would be done by one individual – primarily limited to bed-making tasks.

Furthermore, the evening housekeeping team arrived considerably late on occasion. When we called with complaints about these issues, we were met with confusion regarding our dissatisfaction.”

The reviewer found the staff at the property to be unhelpful and unresponsive, especially during breakfast.

The host’s role was unclear and unaddressed, and the property’s lack of personalized service was frustrating. The restaurant staff repeatedly inquired about room numbers and allergies, highlighting the need for better staffing.

Meals

Cap Juluca’s breakfast is a joyous affair, as the sea beckons nearby while sunlight and cool breezes envelop you.

Though this all faded into insignificance when my eyes landed upon the grand buffet spread that offered every type of fruit, pastry, cooked dish imaginable to elevate one’s happiness hormones higher than an Icelandic volcano erupting with excitement.

Their pastries are ever-changing but their brioche filled with cream is undoubtedly artful craftsmanship at its finest. For those who crave more choices can opt for ordering from their à la carte menu instead!

The other dishes are equally impressive, but Uchu – their Peruvian eatery – truly shines with its exceptional lunch and dinner offerings.

Be warned though, the wait times can be lengthy; however, once your dish arrives you’ll find that a single course is often sufficient given their generous portions.

If you opt for two courses prepare yourself to spend half of the day waiting in anticipation and the other half indulging! I was certainly surprised by the high caliber of Peruvian cuisine offered at this Caribbean restaurant.

The food was excellent, with loungers and Cap Shack offering laid-back lunch options. Cip’s and Pimms offer Italian and fine dining, with unique menus catering to children.

The establishments have distinct decor and atmospheres, making it an enjoyable dining experience for both adults and children.

Room

There are 108 rooms currently available at the resort, with an additional five being added soon. These rooms are arranged into individual units known as villas, each featuring unique layout designs and room arrangements.

During our stay, we occupied #1401 – a Pool Suite linked to a Deluxe King Room via connecting doors.

It’s worth noting that some of these villas are sold under this title despite their distance from the main amenities without any clear justification for doing so; something which could potentially cause confusion among guests.

The design of the rooms is intriguing, having been fully renovated after Hurricane Irma around the same time that Belmond acquired the property.

Though they appear fresh and new, there is a distinct sense of place brought about by Belmond’s unique style.

The hotel reflects an interesting blend between Marrakech and Caribbean influences with tall ceilings reminiscent of Moroccan architecture as well as dome-like areas to accommodate fans.

While little is known regarding its origins, it has been rumored that someone misunderstood “Caribbean chic” for “Caribbean sheik.”

The resort offers a combined living and dining space with an elegant six-person table, a comfortable sofa, a sleek kitchenette, and an extra bathroom with shower facilities.

The property features a shaded outdoor area with a pool, a private garden, and a private beach. However, the property lacks privacy due to a public pathway outside the door.

The minibar is complimentary for initial use, but refills come at an additional cost. The kitchen has a spacious refrigerator stocked with free beverages.

Despite these issues, the resort’s location may appeal to basic rooms, but those who prioritize private sunbathing may not appreciate the location.
